goal: feels powerful and fair to him. not charity.

  • — rent: who pays what? (my starting thought: i cover rent — his call how.)
  • — his contribution: teaching/soundbook work traded for living, OR a real paid rate so it's income, not a favor? → he chooses.
  • — if paid: the rate / the number ______
  • — shared costs (food, utilities, studio gear): how do we handle these?
  • — soundbook equity / ownership split — settled and written down? if not, when?

02 — how we work (no burnout)

  • — core working hours that fit BOTH our rhythms. no all-nighters.
  • — who owns what: me = voice / brand / community. you = product / tech / sound.
  • — how we make decisions when we disagree.
  • — weekly 15-min check-in: are we aligned? are we okay?
  • — rest is protected. we don't reward depletion. say it out loud.

03 — living together (boundaries)

  • — home is a sanctuary first. agree on shared space vs alone space.
  • — work stays out of the bedroom — literally and emotionally.
  • — partners + teammates. not caretaker / rescued. say it plainly.
  • — how we handle a hard day without it becoming a work problem.

04 — the move

timeline. tour. then ink.

  • — tour both apartments together: Cochran 1st floor + 414 N Sycamore.
  • — filter: safe + warm-maker-home.
  • — no deposit until tour + this call are both done.
  • — i fly to LA june 26th — hair + bringing some of my stuff.
  • — my parents' restoration hardware furniture is in storage at the grove. the long dining table becomes the centerpiece — where we build the empire.
